Fog liftsfrom the redwoods
Nestled just north of San Francisco, Muir Woods National Monument preserves one of the last remaining old-growth coastal redwood forests in the world. These ancient trees — Sequoia sempervirens — can soar over 250 feet and live for more than a millennium, sustained by the cool, fog-laden air drifting in from the Pacific.

The redwoods thrive through a delicate balance of moisture and shade, their needles capturing fog to nourish the roots below. Streams wind through deep ravines, feeding an understory rich with aromatic vegetation — ferns, bay laurel, moss — where filtered light creates a world suspended in time.
The composition
Muir Sol reflects the moment fog recedes from Muir Woods and light enters the redwood canopy. Mandarin gives the fragrance its warmth, while wild fennel, myrtle, and sage trace the forest floor. Virginia cedarwood, oakmoss, and copaiba balsam form a resinous base that lingers close to the skin.
First light
The opening is luminous and immediate. Bergamot with its aromatic brightness, blood orange with depth and color, California kumquat lending lifted radiance. Yuzu adds a taut, sparkling quality; lime keeps the whole structure clean and alive. An opening that evokes light through fog, brief and clarifying.

The forest floor
A sun-drenched mandarin takes the lead at the heart, its sweetness softening the composition and illuminating the greens beneath. Wild fennel, myrtle berry, and sage trace a path through the forest floor: aromatic, botanical, specific to a Northern California hillside in late afternoon.
Ancient wood
Virginia cedarwood anchors the drydown with linear clarity. Oakmoss grounds the whole, a damp, wooded quality that reads like forest floor after rain. Copaiba balsam adds warmth that lingers like shifting light within the stillness of the groves.
Muir Sol is part of the first Neue Terra collection, composed by Ashley Santiago and made in California.
